But I know, you will not let this happen.
This is why you had to come here.

How to Better UnderStand Title tag?

The title tag is an HTML element.
Its importance only increases when Google uses it as a clickable link to the search engine result page (SERP).

SERP title tag

See that, this is the role of the title tag on the search engine results page.

But to understand how its role is based on a webpage, we have to study the web page.
The title tag on any web page defines the name of that webpage.

It appears at the top of that web page and if we look at its HTML source code.
So in HTML source code, we will find that it is inside the HEAD tag.

You can understand it well from the picture below.

We have gathered some information about the title tag, but how does it affect a user?
Now we try to understand it.

How does the title tag impact the user?

To understand this, I want to mention a short story here.

In which we will know the importance of the title tag.

WaterMelon title tag story

There were two vendors selling watermelons in a fruit market.
One was named Raju, the other was Moti.

Both of their shops were face to face.

Just then a customer came there.
He saw both sides that the melon sellers are sitting, but where should he go?

But then he put some mind and read a board which was placed outside both of them.

On Raju’s board, “Fresh Green Watermelon” was written and “Fresh Juicy Watermelon” was written on Moti’s board.

Now tell which way the customer will go?

The customer went towards Moti.

Why?

The answer is very simple.

Moti’s words created an expression in the mind of the customer for the melon that he felt while eating the watermelons.

Although “juicy” is a small word, it left a deep impact.

We saw how a little word attracted the customer.

In exactly the same way, the title tag impacts any written article.

A search engine only ranks an article on the results page when more and more users relate themselves to that article.

Bullet points to write a good SEO friendly title

Include targeted keyword

When the title of any web page is written.
Special care is taken to ensure that the title includes targeted keywords.

Target keywords are those which have written articles after taking them into consideration.
Because of which the main subject of the article is revealed.

That is why it is very important for them to be in the title.

When searching with keywords on Google, all search results related to the keyword appear on the page.

If someone sees that keyword in the title, then it is known that the information needed is available on that link.

Let’s say I searched for “blog title” on Google

Blog title example

On search engine result pages (SERP) those webpages are given the highest priority, whose title includes the keyword “Blog title”.

Apart from this, there are many such factors which affect page ranking.
But it is a factor connected to the mainstream.

Unique titles can boost results

Titles written on a web-page must be different from other web-page titles on that same website.

Due to the title being unique, it is easy for the visitor to understand it differently from others.

Google also finds the status of the page underlined separately.

To write the title, we can use different methods for different websites.

I would like to mention some of these methods which are very famous.

Blogging or Article Websites:

This type of website is mostly used for education, personal opinion and review etc.
So special attention is paid to the title.

For this, we can make the title based on the post title, category and site name.

[Post Title]-[Category]|[Site Name]
[Post Title:Key Concept]-[Site Name]

E-Commerce Websites:

In all e-commerce websites, most of the objectives are the sale of products.

The main purpose of visitors in such websites is to buy that product and have an eagerness to know its features.

Here the product name and its features are in a special role.

For this, we can make the title based on the Product name, Feature and site name.

[Product name]-[Feature]|[Site Name]
[Product name:Key Concept]-[Category][Brand]

News Sites:

People visit most of the news sites to know the state of the country, or to get the details of the happenings in their private sector.

So such website title tag can be prepared very easily and differently.

Which may include headlines, country, state, date etc.
We can write it like this

[Headlines]-[Country:state:Division]-[site name]
[Date:Headline]-[News Type]-[sitename]

Some other Points

  • Keep the title length between 50 and 60 characters long.
  • The title should be based on a summary of the content.
  • The title should be written in such a way that the visitor can relate it to himself.
  • Do not use targeted keywords again under the title.
  • It is better to have targeted keywords in the title at the beginning

With these words, I end here.
